Message From the Principal

Haere Mai, welcome to Matatoki School, a fabulous rural school in an attractive country setting just 5 minutes outside the township of Thames. Matatoki School is a full primary school with 4 classrooms and a roll of approximately 90 students.

Matatoki School's motto and vision of 'Achieving Excellence Together' defines the vision and intent of our school. We are ambitious for our children's academic, cultural, social and sporting achievement and constantly strive for excellence and success.

Our school’s motto is supported by four values that are the basis for everything that occurs at our school, these being Courage, Attitude, Respect and Excellence. Forming the acronym C.A.R.E which guides our students throughout their time at Matatoki School. Our students consistently strive to be the best they can be by showing they C.A.R.E throughout every school day and every initiative they undertake.

Our students are well supported in their learning journey by enthusiastic, experienced and effective teachers who work in partnership with the children, their parents and wider community to ensure every child can fulfill their potential. Our community takes pride in the huge range of opportunities provided to Matatoki School students. We are extremely well supported by the wider community and enjoy high engagement and support in all extra-curricular activities. Matatoki School students enjoy taking part in a wide range of cultural, musical, sporting and academic opportunities that ensure every child is engaged, connected and succeeds.

Matatoki School provides an inclusive, positive, vibrant and exciting school community where children develop a love of learning, make strong social connections and thoroughly enjoy being part of a fantastic community. Students leave Matatoki School empowered to achieve in whatever future pathway they desire.

I have every confidence that Matatoki School will provide your child with the very best start to their schooling, so why not come on in and see why Matatoki School students love their school.
